I use Expensify to track my expenses and produce my expense account. Love the app as I am often on the road and I can upload quickly and easily my expenses and forget about it :).

I worked with other expense tools in the past and I estimate I spend approximatly 70% less time and efforts to produce a report.

I love the fact that my report can be pushed automatically at a pre determine time: that way, I do not miss any deadline and I get my payment very quickly

I love the ease of use of the app: you just have to take a picture of your invoice and the system will do the rest! In some situations, I have to select the expense category, but usually all fields are completed automatically.

Expensify is perfect for someone who is always on the road and want to log his invoices immediatly. That way, if I lose my invoice, it is already in Expensify

I was a previous user of "Webexpenses" software which I found to be slow to use, the app on my phone would crash all of the time and the software was generally "glitchy". So using Expensify is a dream in comparison. It is really easy to use, simple to correct any mistakes and actually makes completing expenses (which is a boring task) much quicker and bordering on enjoyable.

As a sales person, I travel a good part of the year and meet with customers frequently. Expensify is used by my company and is extremely easy for me to submit my expenses immediately. I use my mobile to snap a photo of the receipt and within minutes I can submit that expense for reimbursement. Its also great for app related expenses like Uber and Lyft.

I use it to report and get reimbursed for my monthly expenses - this includes, travel, software licenses, subscriptions, hardware, fees, etc. As an international contractor, I do have common expenses that my company reimburses me for.

  • Often times I get a warning that the value of a receipt doesn't match what I manually I inputted. So making Smart scanner a little smarter, essentially.
  • It would be fun to see stats about my expenses
It's well suited for a company like mine, where employees are distributed globally and frequently travel and have software expenses.

I really can't think of a situation where it's less appropriate. In more regulated industries maybe? At a previous employer I used SAP Concur and it was a nightmare, because of its clunkiness and not being intuitive at all. It was a major, global corporation though.

It does the expense approval workflow as well as the storing and capturing receipts to ensure proper accounting. It makes it easier to sort and track expenses made on company credit cards. It is also used for other expenses that are not related to travel.<br><br>

Expensify is being used to record expenses across all our departments. It is solving the connection of expenses from employees to accountants. We have used this for over 2 years and it has really cut down on the amount of work that our team needs to do when worrying about expense reports.

Expensify is used by our organization for expense report management, integrated with our accounting ERP system, Intacct. It allows our mostly remote team to submit expense reports paperlessly and makes approval and reimbursement very easy.

Expensify is a great, really easy to use expense report software that I have used for many years now. I think the ease of use is far superior to its main competitor Concur from both a user and admin standpoint. It is ideal for a company who wants to get away from paper receipts and reports because employees can simply snap a picture of a receipt and save it in the app so there is no need to hold onto receipts while traveling.
From an admin perspective, it is very easy to sync the system to Sage Intacct, easy to add and delete users and easy to set up approval flows that vary employee to employee.

Since sales and product management along with presales teams have higher travel work load there are specific user experience focused changes has been done for these power users. Expensive allows great user experience by offering changes.

The entire organization is using Expensify. We use it to log any reimbursements we need as well as things the company has decided to cover for us; for example, our phone bills are covered if you're in sales, and Expensify is where I log that information every month.

  • Once you submit your expense, it is not submitted. You have to double back to your "home" and go from there actually to submit the expense.
  • I do wish that as those on the team are approving finances, it would tell you if someone has looked at it. Not just say it's approved.
Expensify is well suited for anything having to do with reimbursements. Anything along the lines of events, conferences, monthly stipends, anything your company says that you can submit a receipt and get a reimbursement for. It's easily tracked in the mobile app or online. You can see the log of what has been paid out in the past, as well as keep track of your finances.

Our organization uses Expensify to track, manage, and approve expenses. I personally use it on my mobile app and on my computer. It's easy to use. It helps everyone stay informed about expenses and cascades the approval process through the necessary managers. It makes it convenient to track expenses on the go, including work trips.

I highly recommend this tool for medium to large companies who need to manage and track expenses, and/or distribute reimbursements. We use Expensify across the entire company for reimbursements including documentation, approval, and payment. Currently, all reimbursements are approved by one person on the operations team. In the future, we will move to a department-based approval system. It keeps all documentation in one place and expedites the reimbursement process vs. one person manually processing the payments through our banking system.

  • The mobile app and web app don't have the same UX.
  • Smartscan sometimes takes a while.
It's an excellent, user-friendly system to manage the expenses process. In my experience, it's a quicker, easier tool than using a corporate-type system (eg. Workday) for the expense process. Unfortunately, when companies scale, they tend to adopt large scale corporate systems and Expensify hasn't figured out how to market and be used in those situations.

As a consultant, I travel a great deal. I used to manage receipts the old-school way: stuff them into my pockets and hope I don't lose any. With Expensify, receipts get uploaded on the fly, get tagged to a specific expense report, and are ready to be submitted with my invoices when I need them.
  • Smart scanning of receipts is a wonderful tool that saves me keystroking time.
  • The ability to create mileage receipts using the maps feature makes it unnecessary to track odometer readings.
  • Creating the expense rules can be a little clunky and difficult.
  • Some things are difficult to find. For instance, when I needed to change the mileage rate, I had to search the knowledgebase for how to do this.
Expensify is perfect for a business traveler who needs to track expenses by the client for either client payment or IRS reporting. With receipts captured and stored, it makes reporting very, very easy. The ability to integrate with Quickbooks is also a time-saver and reduces the need to double enter expenses in two different applications.

Expensify is used by everyone in the company, both domestically in the US and by our remote employees in Europe. Employees submit reimbursement requests, managers approve those requests and accounting processes the requests. There is a historical reporting tool. There are email reminders to the flow as well. Expensify addresses our need to allow employees to get reimbursements by easily completing online forms. There is a mobile app that works well. Receipts can be conveniently uploaded via the app.

Expensify is being used across our organization to manage expense submissions, it is connected to our Netsuite account and there is a multi-step approval through managers and finance before our expenses are being reimbursed. It allows employees to submit expenses, managers to approve them, and the finance team to reimburse once approved.
  • I like that you can set up rules for common expenses like cell phone reimbursement so you don't have to type the same thing each time.
  • You can sync to your bank accounts to automatically pull in transactions.
  • Most of the time, the smartscan feature fails or freezes for a long period of time on mobile and I have to enter things manually.
  • I can't choose to submit my expenses to different people (only my manager), example if I incurred expenses from a different department head I can't send to them for approval.
Generally, Expensify is a very useful tool for submitting and being reimbursed for expenses. I've worked at small organizations and larger ones that have used the tool and it is very adaptable and works well for both. It becomes particularly useful if you have many approval chains and you need to have multiple people approving reports. If you really only need to track expenses on a corporate card, I think you can get away with the basic package.

Expensify is being used across the organization as a way to track business expenses. Generally, capturing business expenses is a drawn-out, after-thought process, but Expensify is a user-friendly, mobile-app friendly tool that allows us to scan receipts as well as integrating with other 3rd party apps (Uber, Lyft) and corporate card reconciliation. It allows us to track business expenses easily so that we can focus on other things that drive the business.

  • We've had incorrect "Disputes" at times when auto-scanning.
  • It's more user-friendly on the mobile app than on desktop.
Expensify is best suited to track business expenses on the go. The app has a great user interface and is user-friendly and, for the most part, auto-scans your receipts to automatically pre-populate important fields so that you don't have to.

We are all using it because it's so easy to use. The mobile-friendliness is the key component. Most of us who do sales HATE keeping up with expenses, and the ability to use the scanning/picture functions are two of the things we like best. If we are on a business lunch, we can take the full receipt and have it scanned and be done.
  • Converting pictures of restaurant receipts is a big plus.
  • I can tag different accounts and clients very easily.
  • I don't see the Concierege function having much use for what I do.
When I add the tip to a restaurant bill I can use the picture function to "back up" what I submit on an expense report. I hate keeping all those receipts, but I really hate having to divert my attention from a client to add my tip to my copy. It sounds trivial, but if we are having a good conversation I don't want to stop what we are talking about (usually me selling some idea!) and have to re-add my tip to my receipt.

We use it in real-time to log any purchases we make on our credit cards. It's used across the whole department. Expensify helps us to stay organized because we can categorize it for the books before we even submit it. Each expense log is approved by the direct manager and sent to accounting for bookkeeping.

We use Expensify across our entire organization for expense management, expense reporting, and employee repayment. We also have an interface with American Express that brings in all charges to each individual's expense report for company card purchases. This helps out with monthly expense reports for every employee in our organization.

  • It has some quirks with reading receipts.
  • The phone app sometimes loses receipts.
Expensify is a great product. It performs great, is easy to use, and we get very few complaints from both users and accounting folks who manage the reports on the backside. It has some great interfaces, good drag and drop for PC users, and an app for those that live on their phones.

  • Digital camera scanning works great, and the OCR (text recognition) is pretty spot-on.
  • It's very easy to edit expenses online or in the app.
  • I don't know of a way to make batch changes to expenses in a report.
When on the go during a business trip, it's very easy to take a picture of the receipt and add it to an expense report. You can clarify the details later and correct anything the scan might've gotten wrong. It even works on handwritten receipts, so it can even help with that little hole-in-the-wall sandwich shop where they wrote a receipt out just for you.

Our entire organization uses Expensify to streamline our expense reports. We are all remote across the west coast and before Expensify, all expense reports were done in excel and e-mailed to the admin. Receipts had to then be mailed or scanned and e-mailed. This makes expense reports so much cleaner and allows everyone to expense what they need as they go or after each trip instead of at the end of each month. Some of our guys would do 3 months at a time because it was such a pain to fill out their reports. Now, they are able to do it as they go. Saves so much time!

As a fully remote team, Expensify is a lifesaver. None of our sales team works in the same office and our CFO also manages a territory. Expensify cuts down on his admin time processing expense reports and makes our reimbursement time much quicker. We were referred to Expensify by a much larger corporation and while it takes them longer to process reports because of their size, it still works well for them too. Expensify works for any size company and saves so much time for your admins!

Each department and member under that department has access to Expensify, so that we can expense qualified expenses as needed. This includes things like travel, corporate gifts to clients, etc. It addresses the ability to have an easy and unified way to track employee corporate expenses, and manage reimbursement. It's much easier than using spreadsheets.

Very well suited for individuals and tracking corporate expenses. The app and email forwarding feature make submitting receipts while traveling or on the go, a breeze.

I don't know what it's like at the accounting level, like the people actually approving the reports. But for the individual, it's very easy to use.
